We highly encourage you to have both a reservation policy and a check-in/check-out policy. These can be setup in Roomsy by going to

[Settings > [Company] > [Policies]

While these vary from property to property we encourage you to touch on a couple of main points.

  1. Your property's right to remove any person who appears to be intoxicated, or who may be a potential threat to the safety of hotel staff or guests. This may look something like this:
    1. [Your property name] has a zero tolerance policy in which it will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in the motel / hotel or may remove a person who: while on premises of the motel / hotel acts in an obviously intoxicated or disorderly manner, destroys or threatens to destroy motel / hotel property or causes or threatens to cause a public disturbance; or refuses or is unable to pay for the accomodations and services. Also, using of illegal drugs and illegal substance within the premises of [Your property name] will be subject for expulsion and proper authorities will be notified.
  2. Your property's right to fine a guest for not complying with hotel policies. For example, smoking in a non-smoking room, or having a pet in a room when it is not allowed. This may look something like this:
    1. A $200.00 fine will be sanctioned for: A. Smoking is done in a non-smoking room. B. Pets brought into the room without authorization. C. Damages are found inside the room during your stay.
  3. Your check-in / check-out times. Whether or not they are flexible, and whether or not you charge extra to check-out later. This would look something like this:
    1. [Your property's name] 's check-in time is at 4pm daily. Our check-out time is at 1pm. If you would like an extended check-out time we offer  complimentary hour, but charge $25 for each additional hour.
  4. Your property's policy on charging a guest for canceling a reservation. This would like something like this:
    1. [Your property name] holds the right to charge a guest the equivalent of one night's rate for cancelling a confirmed reservation.

We hope this will help you in writing your property's policies.
